Chess Bars

I fed the missionaries last week. I couldn't decide what to make for them until the night before. By waiting so long I was restricted to what I had in my pantry/fridge. When I read this recipe I thought it would be perfect. After trying his first bite, one of the Elders told me I "had captured the essence of the Celestial Kingdom in this dessert!" Wow, I wouldn't go that far in describing it, but it was pretty dang good. Caution: they are extremely rich! Enjoy

Chess Bars

1 box yellow cake mix
3 eggs
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, melted
4 cups powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 300 and spray a 9×13 dish with cooking spray. Mix cake mix, melted butter and one egg to a soft dough. Press into the bottom of the pan. Mix powdered sugar, softened cream cheese and remaining two eggs until smooth, about 1-2 mins. Pour on top of crust. Bake at 300 for 40-50 minutes until top is golden brown.
